Major changes

This firmware is for non-USA versions that have a serial number beginning with other than "02".

Changes from Version 1.33.

  • The MAC Address item is added in the Set mode.
  • The File Split function that can record the received audio, depending on the squelch open or closed status, is improved.
  • The Noise Reduction function is improved.
  • Fixed an issue where the RX audio level may change when the bass level is increased.

To update the firmware

  • Thoroughly read Section 7. USING AN SD CARD and Section 13. UPDATING THE FIRMWARE of the INSTRUCTION MANUAL and follow the instructions displayed on the IC-R8600 LCD screen.
  • Making a backup file of programmed contents and settings onto the SD card before updating the firmware is recommended.
  • The firmware will be updated to the following versions.
    Main CPU: 1.34
    Front CPU: 1.01
    DSP Program: 1.05
    DSP Data: 1.01
    FPGA: 1.10
    DV DSP: 1.01
