Icom Launches IC-M430 VHF Marine Radio with First-in-Class Color Display

KIRKLAND, Wash. (September 28, 2026) – Icom America announces the new IC-M430 fixed-mount VHF marine radio, combining a first-in-class color display with a slim mounting depth, powerful audio, flexible microphone installation, and modern marine-network connectivity.

Shipping begins at the end of September 2026 through Icom America’s authorized marine dealer network at a suggested retail price of $999.00.

Every boater knows the moment: the marina calls back with a slip number, the wind has picked up, someone is talking in the cockpit, and what comes through the radio could have been “C-9” or could have been nothing at all.

The IC-M430 was designed for that moment, and for the hundreds of quieter ones around it. It is a radio built to be easy to read in changing light, easy to hear over engine and wind noise, and easier to fit into crowded modern helms.

A Screen You Can Actually Read, Day or Night

The IC-M430 is the first radio in its class to feature a color display.* Multiple viewing modes help keep channel and operating information clearly visible in bright daylight while reducing glare during nighttime operation.

Active noise canceling works on both transmitted and received audio, helping reduce engine and wind noise at both ends of the conversation. The IC-M430 transmits at up to 25W, with a low-power setting available for close-range communications.

With an optional hailer speaker, the radio also supports hailer operation and automatic foghorn functions. The ICM430 is rated IPX7 for water resistance and includes Icom’s AquaQuake™ function to help clear water from the speaker grille after exposure.

Built-In Safety and Position Information

Class-D DSC provides access to digital distress calling, while the IC-M430’s built-in GPS supplies position information without requiring a separate GPS receiver.

In an emergency, a properly configured DSC distress call can transmit the vessel’s identity and position to DSCequipped stations within range, helping make critical information available quickly when every second matters.

The radio also includes a VSWR alert that can warn users of potential antenna or coax problems before they compromise communications.

Dualwatch and Tri-watch help users monitor Channel 16 while operating on another channel, and support for fourdigit channel numbers keeps the radio compatible with current international channel assignments.

Designed for Modern Helm Installations

At 202 mm wide and just 52.6 mm deep behind the panel, the IC-M430 is approximately half the mounting depth of previous Icom fixed-mount radios, making it especially well-suited for refits and space-constrained helm installations.

The radio can be flush-mounted for a finished dashboard installation or installed using a mounting bracket. Its slim, flat-faced design also supports an MFD-style front-mounting approach where traditional flush-mount access is limited. For dealers, installers, and boatbuilders, that flexibility can simplify installations on center consoles, pilothouses, flybridges, and other helms where space behind the panel is already limited.

The IC-M430 supports both NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183-HS, allowing position and DSC information to be shared with compatible onboard electronics. An optional HM-195 CommandMic™ provides remote operation from a second station up to 18.3 meters away and supports intercom operation between control points.

Put the Microphone Where You Need It

The IC-M430 also introduces greater flexibility in microphone placement. In addition to the standard front-panel connection, the microphone can be routed from the rear of the radio, helping keep the face of the unit clear in flushmounted installations.

With the optional OPC-1000 extension cable, installers can place the microphone closer to where the operator naturally stands, such as near the wheel or along the side of a console.

For sailboats and multi-station installations, the optional CommandMic™ allows the main radio to remain mounted below while providing control and communication capability at the helm.
