Icom Joins Celebration of 50 Years in Oshkosh

KIRKLAND, Wash. (July 2019) – ADD BEFORE FLIGHT. Get ready for takeoff! Join Icom for the 50thth Anniversary of EAA's AirVenture being in Oshkosh. From July 22nd to 28th, Icom will be showcasing its complete line of handheld, panel mount, and mobile aviation transceivers in booths 2027 and 2028.

Icom is proud to announce their newest avionic handheld radio, the A16. It is packed with practical features such as loud, class-leading, powerful 1500 mW audio, which is perfect for noisy work environments. The large capacity battery pack provides users with up to 17 hours of operating time on a robust 2400 mAh Li-ion battery. It is compact, waterproof (IP67/IP54), and built to MIL-STD-810 (C, D, E, F, G) for the best durability. Pilots will love that the A16 offers built-in Bluetooth® connectivity (A16B version only), making hands-free operation a cinch.

While you're there, also check out Icom's A25 Series. A powerful air band VHF radio, the A25 Series expands communication coverage and enhances aircraft safety. Output power has been increased to a powerful 6W (PEP). Its easy-to-use interface and large 2.3-inch LCD display combine to provide stress-free programming and easy in-flight operation. There are two versions available, the A25N (NAV/COM) or the A25C (COM only).

The navigation features in the A25N will change the way pilots fly. Design flight plans with an Android™ or iOS™ device and import them into the A25N with the Bluetooth® feature. While using GPS, the waypoint NAV will guide pilots to their destination.

Also on display will be Icom's TSO-approved A220 panel mount transceiver. It is a popular fit with experimental and light sport pilots. It features the latest in easy-to-use functions and cutting-edge technology. The A220 boasts a bright white OLED display with 170° viewing angle, making visibility crystal clear.

Icom equipment will be on the air from amateur radio station W9W operated by the EAA Warbirds of America. They will be on 40 through 10 meters as well as 2 meters and 70 cm during AirVenture. See our complete line of amateur radio equipment on our website. The station will be located on the Warbirds' grounds near Warbirds' HQ. If you would like to get on the schedule to operate W9W, please contact Ray Novak here.

Known as 'The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration', this year's AirVenture will welcome Icom along with over 880 commercial exhibitors.
