POSITION TITLE:		Senior Software Engineer
DATE:		October, 2012
JOB CLASSIFICATION:		Exempt
LOCATION:		Bellevue, WA

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Experienced designer of embedded software for 16 bit microprocessors (preferably Hitachi processors) in RF transceivers or similar electronic devices using C and assembly languages.
   
   
2. Experienced developer of supporting software in PC Windows environment using C++ (e.g., cloning or mapping software.)
   
   
3. Demonstrated ability to modify existing software and firmware (developed by others) with minimum documentation and support on a wide variety of products.
   
   
4. Demonstrated ability to meet challenging project schedules.
   
   
5. RF transceiver firmware design experience including analog (FM, AM, SSB, RTTY and other analog data communication systems.)
   
   
6. Able to read and understand radio schematics
   
   
7. PC proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer
   
   
8. Able to work in a management-by-object environment with a minimum of supervision
   
   
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with people to whom English is a second language
   
   
10. Able to travel domestically and internationally
    
    
11. Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural team environment
    
    

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

1. Rapid prototyping/demonstrating firmware modifications determined from customer needs or in support of research projects.
   
   
2. Project planning skills and accurate schedule estimation
   
   
3. Develop bug-free, well documented code on schedule.
   
   
4. As lead software engineer, help develop software engineers in the group by mentoring or coaching.
   
   
5. Minimum of five years Embedded Software design experience.
   
   

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of BS degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
