POSITION TITLE:   Senior Software Engineer

Do you want to push the state of the art in two-way radio communications? Icom America is looking for a Software/Firmware Engineer to design, build and test custom/localized solutions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experienced developer of supporting software in PC Windows environment using C++ (e.g., cloning or mapping software.)

  • Experienced embedded firmware developer for 16 bit microprocessors in RF transceivers or similar devices using C and assembly languages.

  • Demonstrated ability to modify existing software and firmware with minimum documentation and support.

  • Develop bug-free, well documented code on schedule.

  • 5+ years related software and firmware experience

  • Able to read and understand radio schematics

  • Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to capture requirements.

  • Able to work in a management-by-object environment with a minimum of supervision

  • Help develop software engineers by mentoring or coaching.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with people to whom English is a second language

  • Able to travel occasionally, including internationally.

  • Experience/strong understanding of RF Communication Theory and Digital Signal Processing desired.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of BS degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.

Amateur Radio license required within first year of employment.
