POSITION TITLE:   Staff Accountant

REPORTS TO:   Accounting Manager
LOCATION: Kirkland, WA

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for the preparation and analysis of corporate financial statements, month end journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other general ledger and financial statement analysis duties. Monitor, analyze and reconcile inventory. Answer accounting staff questions and promote teamwork while taking the initiative to assist ICOM in accomplishing corporate mission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Inventory schedules for Financials for 3 companies: Days, In-transit
  • Process Inventory for Icom Brazil and Icom America
  • Process Payment Schedule
  • Maintain Clearing Accounts
  • Code Mitsubishi invoices
  • Manage monthly and weekly cycle accounts
  • Reconcile batch variances
  • Maintain Landed Costs in E1
  • Process Inventory adjustments and transfers
  • Perform Backup Purchasing Tasks:
      •  HC Receiving
      •  Domestic Receiving
      •  System Receiving
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing corporate financial statements. Includes month end journal entries, bank reconciliations, ratios and various other general ledger and financial statement analysis.
  • Complex special projects as requested and needed (i.e.; account analysis confidential payroll reports, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities, is organized and meets deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work with large quantities of paperwork quickly and accurately. Attention to detail is essential. Ability to handle confidential information and situations. Analytical skills required.
  • Ability to operate from established procedures or well-known procedures. Job encounters both recurring situations and frequent variations from the norm, requiring creation of projects on own
  • Ability to perform a variety of daily and routine bookkeeping/accounting duties which typically concern a high level of complexity, difficulty or detail.
  • Accurate data entry, 10-key by touch, and computer expertise required (i.e.; MS Word and Excel).
  • Mathematical aptitude necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment, while working in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, as required.

EDUCATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience preparing corporate financial statements, maintenance of general ledger on a computerized system, and account analysis. Knowledge of complex accounting and bookkeeping theories required.
  • Formal training in Microsoft Excel
