POSITION TITLE:   Parts Specialist
JOB CLASSIFICATION:   Full Time, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO:   Service Supervisor
LOCATION(S):   Kirkland, WA

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Parts Specialist is responsible for processing parts orders which includes answering phone, and email correspondence to providing price, availability, part numbers and other information as required by order entry and being able to prioritize these responsibilities listed below regularly throughout a day. The Parts Specialist is also responsible for assisting with receiving, restocking, re-ordering, cycle counts, inventory adjustments, issuing and maintaining flow of parts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and processes phone, fax, and e-mail purchase orders for Icom products, specifically parts. Provides price, availability, part number, and other information as requested.

  • Actively listens and works with customers over the phone to understand our customer’s needs and "probe" customers for information.

  • Records all sales and/or customer transactions using Company provided systems/tools and guidelines.

  • Ensures internal and external customers receive the correct parts in a timely manner.

  • Understands basic differences of radio equipment within Icom America’s product line and uses manufacturer manuals, books to accurately identify parts for our customers.

  • Works collectively with other team members to achieve organizational goals.

  • Assists with pick and pack parts orders as well as creating customs and shipping docs for export orders and processing them through assigned carriers. Assists with scheduling pickups when needed.

  • Assists with inventory and processing of incoming stock. Takes a proactive approach to inventory control by assisting and/or reporting discrepancies.

  • Assists with maintaining pricing, item descriptions, changes, discontinued part numbers.

  • Assists with purging discontinued and non-moving parts to provide space for new radio parts.

  • Every 6 months, helps oversee a team of 12-20 counters from Washington Inventory Services and manages the communications between them and IT to perform our bi-annual inventory count.

  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years experience in a customer service-oriented position dealing with a high-volume phone atmosphere with emphasis on radio related industry, highly desirable. Computer/order-entry experience a must.

  • Accurate data entry in a fast pace, high volume environment.

  • 1-2 years experience with inventory control system desired. Preferred 1 years’ experience working with electronic components.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated customer satisfaction; and flexibility to change priorities based on coverage needs of the department workload and customer requests.

  • Ability to self-direct daily priorities; meet time-sensitive deadlines; and manage multiple tasks.

  • Organization skills; strong attention to detail; and positive attitude required.

  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally with or without accommodation.
